There is a narrative in the legacy media that Trump incited the riot at the capital on Jan 6th. While I may have disagreed with Trumps claims of widespread voter fraud that cause him to lose (which were totally irresponsible and untrue), Trump never once even hinted at violence and in fact, on Jan 6th, explicitly told his followers the following.
"Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we're going to walk down and I'll be there with you. We're going to walk down--
We're going to walk down. Anyone you want, but I think right here, we're going to walk down to the Capitol--And we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.
We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated. Lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."
Then when the riot breaks out this is a weird way of cheering it on.
“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!” Trump tweeted. “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”
There simply is no evidence that he incited violence. But lets say you disagree. That's fine. My only question is if you extend that same standard of incitement to Democrats? Is this rhetoric incitement? Are you willing to say democrat rhetoric about police and the need for confrontation and reckoning incited the violence that was so widespread in 2020?
Dozens of people were killed in the BLM "mostly peaceful protests" night after night and Republican congressmen were shot and put in the hospital by radicalized leftists. Never once has the legacy media claimed Democrats incited this. But 24/7 Trump is blamed for the riot at the capitol. Do you see the double standards? Do you see the bias? Yes Jan 6th was appalling and wrong, but have you ever considered that the only person intentionally killed on Jan 6 was a rioter? How does that compare with the democrat inspired and supported"mostly peaceful protests" of 2020. The current VP Kamala Harris actually encouraged people to donate money to a fund to bail our BLM rioters who has been arrested for breaking the law and the media is silent! Could you imagine if Trump had told everyone to give money to bail out Jan 6 rioters? Would the media have been silent? And the legacy media wonders why trust in them is at an all time low.
