And if Trump loses?

So any look at the polls right now has people who support Trump worried. Sure, we can claim that the polls were wrong before and are wrong now and maybe thats right. But let’s consider if we are wrong and what that means.

What happens if Trump loses?

Among Trumps strongest supporters there’s been a lot of doom and gloom about the end of America if Trump loses. I certainly think there is reason to be worried about a Joe Biden presidency. He likely is not mentally capable of running the show himself and so his handlers will largely be running the country. However, we should ask ourselves... is anyone really voting for Joe Biden? I really don’t think so. I don’t think people are looking at what’s going on right now and thinking, “you know what we need right now... we need Joe Biden”.

So why is Trump losing? The short answer is simple. People don’t like him. He is brash and his personality rubs people the wrong way. It even rubs me the wrong way from time to time. So when you combine that with the fact that 2020 is a rough year for nearly everyone and a relentless media hatred that spins everything as his fault, you might see why he faces an uphill battle.

But let’s consider if Trump is out of the picture.

This would leave the Democrats without the one thing that seems to unite them. All of the sudden everything can’t be blamed on Trump. All of the sudden the country will turn to people like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and say... “Ok, how are you going to solve the problems we face”? I don’t think the Democrats are at all prepared to answer that question.

Socialized medicine? Open borders? Green New Deal? Reparations? Defund police? Go soft on China? None of these are policies that have broad American support and people may not like Trumps personality but that does not mean they like the hard left swing the Dems are taking. Even Dems rejected hard leftist Bernie Sanders in extraordinary fashion and selected the perceived moderate Joe Biden. The democrats are not as far left as some might think. I think we are very likely to see a massive backlash against the growing radicalism in the Democrat party not only from the right but from independents and moderate democrats. The walk away movement may just be getting started.

What’s strange is that even if Trump is a one term president, he may have done something incredible. Not only did he destroy the old loser neocon Bush Republicans (that essentially everyone now hates) and score a ton of republican policy victories, he most importantly may have drove the leftists so insane that it's going to rip the democrat party in half as these newly energized radicals try to take over the party.

We needed Trump and I would love if he were still our President for another four years. But if he is not, I think the Democrats are going to get smacked with reality and what will remain is the movement Trump started. It will be seen as the patriotic pro American alternative to the growing regressive leftism in our country. Then if you cap off the movement with a charismatic and likable leader like Dan Crenshaw we could be looking at a big win in 2024 and potentially a new Reagan-like era of pro Americanism as a backlash to the anti-Americanism we are seeing grow in the democrat party.

So while I am concerned about the possible outcome of the 2020 election. I think that Donald Trump may have played the role he needed to by acting as the rough edged catalyst to expose the ugly reality of leftism. And leftism will ultimately be rejected by Americans in the same way we rejected Bernie Sanders and in the same way the Brits rejected Jeremy Corbyn.

With that said, I hope I am right, because if radical leftism does take hold on our country the future is honestly terrifying to me. Luckily, I don’t think the majority of my fellow Americans hate this country despite how it sometimes feels on Twitter.
